Dunlop Legacy - Isle Of Man TT

For any that may not have seen it "Road," a film that chronicles the Dunlop family road racing legacy, is well worth checking out. Narrated by Liam Neeson, Road is the dramatic and poignant story of two sets of brothers from Northern Ireland who dominated road racing for over thirty years. Two generations of one family that have been united by success and united by tragedy. The trailer can be seen here.

Having seen Road I couldn't help noticing this past week that Michael Dunlop both won the Superbike class and set a new lap record at the Isle of Man TT. Congratulations to Michael. A rider's perspective of Michael's record setting lap can be seen below.

The Isle of Man is a legendary event with an unparalleled history but the 2016 event resulted 4 fatalities, one of which delayed the start of Dunlop's own record setting lap. There have been 250 fatalities in total during the life of the Isle of Man event. Road gives perhaps the most insight I've seen into the mindset of those for which the incredible risk is somehow justifiable. It's amazing but I can't quite relate to it.
